TBA Lineup for 10/18/08

Bringing a little class back to the club.

It looks like the new Fall anime is going pretty well. We've got a few shows that we can show more of later, and there's still more to come! Be sure to come to the next meeting, to see more of what the future holds.

Next week, we'll try again to see the next couple of episodes of Detroit Metal City. We've got a new version of the files, so there shouldn't be any more trouble with it.

Christmas is coming ever closer! The discussion about where to have our party continues during the meetings and in the forums! Make sure to join in. We'll be making final decisions soon, so make sure you're in on it.

TBA Lineup for 10/4/08

Time to bid the SOS Brigade farewell.

The Fall anime season is beginning, and Tampa Bay Anime is going to be the place to see many of the newest shows coming out of Japan. We started the new season off strong with episode 1 of Toradora, a romantic comedy about a misunderstood, tough-looking guy and his violent but short neighbor and classmate. It was pretty fun, and you can expect to see more episodes of it in the future.

Of course, with all of the new anime coming out, we had to make room in our lineup. We saw the last episode of The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya during this meeting, so we now have time for more brand-new shows. Be sure to attend the next meeting to see what will be hot and popular in the months to come.

Anime:
Natsume Yuujinchou #5
Library War #7
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya #12-13

TBA Lineup for 9/20/08

Such a nice boy.

Wow. How about that Detroit Metal City, huh? Pretty intense. We'll definitely be watching more of that.

The rest of our lineup was good times, too. It was all returning to shows we've enjoyed in the past. The new season of anime is coming up soon, but in the meantime, we've got lots of fun stuff to watch.

Now, we need to start thinking about what we want to watch more quickly. Haruhi, our only current Big Block anime (which means we watch two episodes per meeting), is ending soon, so we need to pick something we want to see more of. Typically, those two coveted Big Block slots go to the club's favorite shows. So, I need you all to post in this thread and tell me what you enjoy the most in our lineup right now. (Detroit Metal City is exempt. Since it's only 15 minutes per episode, we already watch two per meeting.)

Anime:
Natsume Yuujinchou #3
Library War #6
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya #9-10
Potemayo #2
Detroit Metal City #1-2
Special A #4

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It's time again to start planning for Tampa Bay Anime's Christmas Extravaganza. Every year we all get together someplace nice and exchange gifts while enjoying a fine dining experience. It's an opportunity for us all to get together and shift the focus from anime to each other. It's something many of us look forward to every year.

Because we have so many people that will want to attend, we need to start thinking about the many decisions that we will have to make. Specifically, we need to agree on a time and a place for the event. The rules for gift-giving will be discussed at a later date. If you're concerned about planning your personal schedule so far ahead, don't worry. We won't be taking reservations yet. This is just a planning phase.

So, head over to this thread and let's talk about it. Do we want to do the same thing we did last year? Is there a good place you've been that you think the rest of us might enjoy? What date do you think will work for you and most people?
