TBA Lineup for 6/27/09

R.I.P

Metrocon 2009 is in the books. In the last meeting, we discussed how Tampa Bay Anime did at the con, our members' impressions, and what our plans are for future fund-raising. We also made official three new events! First of all is the TBA cookout, coming July 18th. Next, there's Ladies Night, where the only anime we'll show is aimed at women. Finally, to keep it all fair, we'll be having Guys Night afterward, when we'll show anime made for men. Watch the new Events forum for official information about everything the club is doing.

Along with continuing several of the series we've watched in the past, we featured a couple of Michael Jackson-inspired AMVs, to commemorate the King of Pop's passing this week. Come and discuss the anime and the AMVs in the official forum thread.

TBA Lineup for 5/30/09

The beautiful people, the beautiful people.

For this meeting, we watched the first screener we received from Funimation, Trinity Blood. Every once in a while, they'll send us a new DVD to watch in return for us filling out a survey. We don't have the survey now, but watch for it. We want these companies to know that we appreciate them and support the anime industry.

Metrocon is three weeks away, so get ready! We'll be debuting some new button designs soon. Be sure to watch the forums for all the info you'll need.

Warning: TBA Copied on MySpace (in the bad way)

While Tampa Bay Anime loves the flattery of being emulated, we do not like what's happening on MySpace right now. The TBA myspace has been copied and is sending out spam messages to members, possibly containing malicious links. Please do not click on these links, as TBA has not sent them and has no idea where they lead or to what. Please post in the forums if you are wondering if a message has been sent from TBA and want to verify. This issue has already been reported to MySpace and we have requested that the malicious fake account be deleted. We are currently awaiting a response from MySpace support. The only legitimate Tampa Bay Anime MySpace account is www.myspace.com/TampaBayAnime all others are impostors and should be avoided. They have no affiliation with us.

TBA Lineup for 4/4/09

Alright, alright. I get the point.

It's back! The regular meeting lineup has returned after a long hiatus. Several months have passed since this blog listed the shows we watched at the last Tampa Bay Anime meeting. Now, we set things right. This feature will be back every other week, so you can keep track and catch up, if you need to.

And what a perfect time to get back into gear! The new Spring anime season is starting up this week in Japan, so we'll be watching all kinds of new stuff in the coming weeks. Be sure to attend each meeting or follow along with us in the forums.

At the last meeting, we sent off another favorite anime, Potemayo. It's charm and humor will be sorely missed, but we'll do our best to replace with something the club will love.

And now, here's this week's lineup. It features several returning shows and one new one from the new anime season: K-ON!. Tell us what you thought about it in the forums.

Anime:
Kannagi #5
Chaos; HEAd #10
K-ON! #1
Toradora! #9-10
Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) #17-18
